Manager Platform Guide - How do I upload documents for an investor?

Securely provide investor specific forms and documents by uploading them to Groundbreaker’s central repository

One time-consuming task required of most real estate firms is the distribution of tax and other required documents and forms to your investors. You can eliminate the manual work required to attach files to emails, collate and sort documents to be mailed, and fax documents. Distribute individual documents to your investors by uploading those documents to Groundbreaker.

Documents with access restricted to a single investor are securely stored and instantly accessible by the investor. You can upload these types of investor-specific documents: K1s, subscription agreements, tax documents, individual reports, accreditation docs, capital account balances, capital call notices, and distribution notices, just to name a few.

To make it easier for you to manage documents for specific investors, Groundbreaker provides several navigation paths. The one that works best for you depends on your specific workflow.

  • When you are managing documents for several or all investors in a specific investment, you may want to navigate from the Investment Entity.

=> Select Menu from the Home Dashboard

=> Then select Investment Entities

=> Select the Investment Entity associated with the document

=> Select the Investments tab

=> Click on the investor’s name

=> Select the Documents tab

  • When you are managing documents for several investor accounts, you may want to navigate from the Investor Accounts page.

=> Select Menu from the Home Dashboard

=> Then select Investor Accounts

=> Select the Investor Account to receive the document

=> Select the name of the investment

=> Select the Documents tab

  • When you are managing documents for specific individuals, you may want to navigate from the Contacts page.

=> Select Menu from the Home Dashboard

=> Then select Contacts

=> Select the name of the investor to receive the document

=> Select the Investments tab

=> Click on the name of the investment

=> Select the Documents tab

Each path leads you to the same page.

When you click on Upload documents, the dialogue box opens for you.

Provide the title of the document and the category that best describes the contents. Add a publication date for the document. Click on Add file to pick from your files or drag and drop a file. Once you click on Upload file, the file is uploaded, stored on the Groundbreaker platform, and available only to this specific investor.

Should you encounter an issue with a broken link to a document, contact support@groundbreaker.co and send the link for the investment with the name of the document you cannot retrieve.
