The Groundbreaker Platform was created to be an automated online process enabling investors to access your portfolio, make offers, and remit and receive payments. Although not required, making distributing payments through ACH eliminates manual steps associated with other payment methods. Remember that:
The maximum amount for ACH direct deposits is $250,000.00
ACH currently supports U.S. Bank Accounts only
U.S. law and KYC/AML compliance requires verification of all users who are funding through electronic transactions - that includes you and your investors
Prerequisites
You must first enable ACH functionality for your Investment Entity. This article - How do I enable ACH Distributions? - leads you through that process.
The subscriber must also enable ACH via the Investor Portal. You can do this on their behalf if they provide you with their bank information. See Add Investor Accounts to learn how.
You must have ADMIN rights in order to create payments.
Process ACH Payments
Once you create and finalize a distribution, one or more of the investors to be paid may have ACH as their preferred method of payment. You can initiate payment via ACH from the same page where you manage other distribution payments.
=> Select Menu from the Home Dashboard.
=> Select Investment Entities
=> Click on the Investment Entity making the distribution
=> Select Transactions
=> Click on Distributions
=> Select the Finalized distribution transaction you are ready to pay on
The top section on the Distributions page shows the payments for each Investor account. Investor Accounts that opted for ACH show ACH in the Distribution Method column. An error message will display if the investor has not completed their ACH configuration.
You need to resolve the error with the investor before finalizing this payment.
The second section on the Distributions page shows investments to be paid aggregated by payment method. Select Create ACH Payments to initiate ACH transfers.
The page for creating ACH payments will be displayed with several areas for you to complete before creating the ACH payment.
Addendum Text - Add the Bank Statement Description text that your investors will see on their bank statements
Investor Account Names - Select the Investor Accounts that are going to be paid in this ACH transaction by checking the box next to each investor account name
Agreement - Check to box to agree to the payment terms and conditions,
Clicking the Create ACH payment button moves the transaction to the approval stage.
Payment Approval
The actual transaction is not initiated until there is a second level of approval by the individuals identified in your account. Mark as Approved when you have the approval to pay.
Once approved, you are able to initiate the transfer of funds to the selected Investor Accounts. Click Send (x) Payments.
